Big news...almost. But probably. Probably definitely. LOL

So, tomorrow is the final board meeting to vote on the stipulations we've set forth in order to negotiate our move to Colorado.  In anticipation of a big fat yes (we are about 99% sure it's happening), I've already started packing the house...like, I started last week.  I have been going slow and just packing up things that we wouldn't need between now and the move (which will happen quickly, as I'm in my 29th week of pregnancy), and pairing down our clutter into more apartment-sized bits.

So here is the tentative plan.

Tomorrow, I am calling to put a holding deposit down on an apartment.  It's a nice three bedroom, 1300+ square feet, and better yet it's TWO MILES from Levi's office.  It's going for a very reasonable price (reasonable by Colorado standards, as housing is about 30% more there than it is here), and I am excited to have found such a nice community online.  We would be renting the place sight unseen, but they have a 100% guarantee policy...if in 30 days you decide you hate it, you can break the lease with no consequences.  Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!  I hate that we are downgrading to a smaller place, especially with another baby on the way, but the idea of no yard work, no maintenance, and a free fitness center?  I'm on board.

After that, I have to call and schedule the movers.  We have decided to pack and load the trailer ourselves to save money, but opted to have the movers unload us into the apartment once we get to Colorado.  The reasoning behind this is we figure we can trick/bribe/guilt our friends into helping us load everything in GA.  We won't have any help in CO (this is probably an untrue statement, as we have family and friends there, but we don't want to impose), and I'll be too pregnant to be any help.  And we kind of need it unloaded in one day.  The complex won't let us park the trailer and unload in the three days we'd have to do it before having to return the trailer.

So, it'll all go down fairly quickly.  The trailer will arrive here on Feb. 23.  We have three business days to load it, which means it will ship to CO on Feb. 28.  It will take three days, but we will most likely have it delivered Friday the 4th, as the movers can have it there and unloaded at 9-11am (like the cable company, lol), and we can be sure to get there before then.  We will fly out on March 3, actually take possession of the apartment, and stay there over night.  We'll check Oliver's Pack 'N Play (perhaps the best $150 we spent when having a baby) so he can sleep in that.  Levi and I talked about buying an air mattress so his pregnant wife didn't have to sleep on the floor...lol.  Either way, it's just one night.

We'll also be shipping our cars, meaning we might be transportation-less for awhile.  I found a great deal on a rental car for about $115 a week, so we might end up doing that.  We'll have Oliver's car seat from the plane ride, so that's great.

All in all, I think it's a pretty good plan.  I feel like I've done a really good job of being frugal, and getting price quotes from several places made me feel really good about the choices we've made concerning the move, at least money-wise.  We are excited about the move...the anticipation is almost killing me, because in addition to wanting to get the best prices on the move, I also have to get thee to an OB immediately after arriving in Colorado.  Luckily, a friend of mine from way back in the day (MIDDLE SCHOOL!!) is a CNM in Colorado Springs, which is about an hour from where we'll be, and her physician recommended a great OB in Littleton.  I've researched both the doctor and the hospital he delivers at.  I'm quite pleased with the information I've read.  Seems like a good fit, as much as one can glean from the internet, anyway.

So!  Keep us in your prayers because tomorrow is the big news day!  I can't wait to hear one way or the other so that I can either A: Curse Levi for letting me pack all this stuff, but then be grateful because we de-cluttered anyway, or B: Get past the mental block that we might not go and get into the packing zone and pack the entire house immediately.  Heh.  Nesting really helps you out when you're packing.  And all I want to do is work on more and more boxes.  Our third bedroom is getting pretty full of boxes already!  I'm telling you.  Nesting, man.

Wooo, great news! Glad to hear it's working out. The apartment sounds good, too, and even if you don't like it, at least it'll give you a solid base of operations while you find another place.

Wow!! This is going down sooo fast- I am so excited for y'all!! Praying for the good news for you & yours tomorrow, too! It's a big day! I also think the apartment is a great idea, at least for the time being, so it takes the pressure off buying a house right away! You're so smart about this whole move- it sounds like you've looked for the best options! Way to go!
