Fluffy mail makes the sick days all better!

Thursday afternoon, I felt a niggling at the back of my throat warning me that the next day was going to bring the pain.  It was right!

I went to the doctor on Friday, and she confirmed that I had "some kind of virus" (no fever), and that I was highly contagious and needed to stay at least six feet away from Oliver at all times.  Oh boy!

It was a lot like being on vacation, only instead of having a good time, I felt like tiny woodland creatures were trying to escape my head via my throat.  Ick.

Six days, and a bottle of Dayquil (and half a bottle of Nyquil) later, I'm on the up and up.  I called the doctor's office to find out just how long I was contagious for, and my doctor said that as long as I wore a mask for the next 24-48 hours and was really good about washing my hands (as I always am) that we should be fine.  On the upside, I read two and a half books while I was quarantined.  =D

We received some more Fluffy Mail from Cute Caboose, one of my favorite online stores!  I bought some gently used cloth diapers from Lesley at Cute Caboose; one Fuzzi Bunz Perfect Size Medium in Butter, and two Happy Heiney One Size snaps in Silly Monkeys and Peace Bears.  I love the FB just as much as the Smartipants (because they are super soft and easy to unstuff, usually no touching required), but am disappointed in the HH snaps.  They just aren't nearly as sturdy as the FB or my Smartipants!  I haven't actually used the HH snaps (though I do love the one Velcro HH I have in Medium), but I'm sure they'll be fine.  They just won't be my favorites.  Oh well!  Now my stash is up to a respectable 21 diapers, though I am waiting on one more in the mail.  It's enough to wash less often, but to tell you the truth...I enjoy doing my diaper laundry.  Is that odd?  I really do enjoy it!  I enjoy hanging up the diapers to dry, and seeing them all in a row.  Plus, the weather is all supremely divine right now here in Georgia.  Double bonus.  =)

I heart Craigslist!

I just sold my Diaper Genie II and refills, PLUS all my sposies that were leftover!  I will now have an extra $65 to buy cloth diapers with.  =D  I've got my eye on a wetbag or two...


Today has been great.  Oliver's rash is looking better now that I'm changing him when he wakes up and when he goes down for every nap.  He almost got me mid-change today!  I'm excited to see how things look when we go to mostly pockets...the suede cloth in the bG's is fantastic at keeping him dry!  I bet there will be no rashes to speak of.

I found a really great price on the new Fuzzi Bunz OS diapers at Thanks Mama where you can get free shipping on orders over $60!  I'm SO tempted to get four pairs of FB's for less than $65!!  I'm going to try to wait til this weekend.  I emailed the site to see if they would tell me how long the sale was going on for.  I hope I get a response, or I may order them before this weekend.  Eh...I've heard only good things about FBs, and the bad things I've heard I don't think will affect us.  I've heard the leg openings are gappy, but my son has chunk-o-love thighs.  =)

K, off I go to feed the tot.  He's a hungry boy! 

Uh, this is backwards.

I noticed the beginnings of a diaper rash today!  WHAT??!  Oliver has never had a diaper rash!

I know it's because I probably haven't changed him often enough, and he's using mostly prefolds right now.  I've only got three bumGenius dipes, but I have three Smartipants on the way, and I changed my mind AGAIN and am buying five more bG's from the Craigslister.  Eh, why not?  She's fixing the elastic that has worn on them, AND she's still only charging me $10 a piece.  How can I pass that up?  Not to mention, the bG's will be babysitter friendly.  That's a big plus.  Even if I have to pull out a yucky insert, it'll wick away the moisture, and Oliver will be a happy boy.

So!  I'm a waffler.  Oh well.  The Craigslister was very understanding...she'd been in my shoes once!  lol

Still, I can't wait to get my fluffy mail from Kelly's Closet!!  I think I'll really like the snappy closures.

Also, I have been thinking about trying the new Fuzzi Bunz One Size...anyone have any experience they'd like to share?  I've read that the inserts will wash out of those...no unstuffing.  Just curious what you thought!
